Welcome to Tianshui. Your tour guide will pick you up at the airport/train station in Tianshui. Today you will visit Maijishan Grottoes, one of four most famous Buddhist Grottoes of China. Maijishan Grottoes seated in south of Tianshui, 45min of driving from City, The grottoes was built in 4th initially. Used to be a important Buddhist site on the ancient Silk Road.196 caves with 1300 square meter of wall paintings were preserved.
If you have enough time and also interested, you can take an optional visit to the Fuxi Temple, Tianshui Fu Xi Temple is the only temple with a statue of Fu Xi who was one of the three emperors in ancient times and was regarded the ancestor of the Chinese. Legend has it that Fu Xi married his sister Nuwa to save mankind after human beings were facing extinction after a flood. The temple was originally established in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) but collapsed in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The one we see today was re-established in the middle Ming.

Day 2 Tianshui-Lanzhou

Drive to Lanzhou by car, on the way, visit the Water Curtain Cave. The Water Curtain Cave is a natural cave about 50 meters high and 30 meters wide and 30 meters deep. During the rainy season, water flows over a fall like a jade bead curtain. In the cave there are ten small buildings such as Sisheng Palace, Guanyin Temple and Laoju Chamber built in the Sui Dynasty. Near the cave is Lashao Temple that was built in the Beiwei Dynasty. A large number of works of grotto art dating from the Beizhou Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty are preserved in Lashao Temple. There is a large fresco there over 40 meters tall on a huge cliff with guarding animals. The fresco covered about 2/3 of the cliff, and the part that remains is extremely precious. On the top of the cliff were built eaves to shelter from the wind and rain. On the eaves were carved flying clouds and walking animals, and real brass bells that rang. These patterns and features, influenced by Hinayana Buddhism, are very rarely seen in Chinese grotto art.
After the visit continue drive to Lanzhou.

Day3 Lanzhou

Drive about 2 hours to the Yellow River Stone Forest. The Yellow River Stone Forest is located in Longwan village in Jingtai district of Baiyin city. It was formed by the rising of the Earth's crust. Just as beautiful as the famous Stone Forest of Yunnan, Yellow River Stone Forest is composed of many sand stalagmites and stone pillars in various sizes and shapes. Unique patterns on cliff sides formed by water and wind erosion have made the stone forest more attractive. The fabulous scene is a prodigious creation of nature. The Yellow River flows east to west through the scenic area, which covers 34 square kilometers. Together with the surrounding deserts, oases and farms, the Yellow River Stone Forest scenic spot has become a location for many famous Chinese movies and TV shows.
After the tour  transferred back to your hotel in Lanzhou.
